Let your young artist explore, experiment, and create during a fun-filled week of painting and mixed media at the El Paso Museum of Art’s Intersession Fall Camp.

This week-long camp is designed especially for children ages 6–9 who are curious about art and excited to discover their own creative voice. Students will be guided by local artist Angie-Michelle Barraza as they explore the foundations of painting, learn basic acrylic painting techniques, and experiment with a variety of mixed-media materials and creative processes. Each day will introduce students to new ideas and techniques, encouraging them to experiment, make creative choices, and develop confidence in their artistic abilities.

The camp will also give students the opportunity to experience art within the museum environment. Inspired by works in the galleries, campers can discover new ways of looking at art and bring those ideas back into the studio to create their own original pieces. EPMA’s youth programs are designed to connect gallery exploration with hands-on studio experiences.

By the end of the week, campers will have created a collection of original artwork while gaining a better understanding of painting and mixed-media techniques, building their creative confidence, and, most importantly, having fun making art.

All art materials and services are included with the cost of tuition. Students should come ready to get creative, experiment, and have a little fun getting messy along the way.
